Pavel Liška

NOV 14, 2023 - DEC 29, 2024

Pavel Liška, also known as Lishown or Lišák (Fox), is an artist and designer based in the Czech Republic, who has spent over ten years navigating both the cultural and commercial sectors. With a diverse background, he specializes in creating interactive objects and environments, as well as stage designs for both real and virtual realms. Drawing on childhood experiences, including a passion for analog creativity and a determination to excel in digital mediums, Pavel's artistic journey has been shaped by early illness and a desire to transcend stereotypes in manufacturing. After a brief stint as an electrical engineer, he returned to his artistic roots by studying at the Pilsen Faculty of Design and Art (Sutnarka), where he explored children's comics, illustration, and interactive media.

Throughout his career, Pavel has combined his academic knowledge with hands-on experience, contributing to various projects, including exhibitions for the National Technical Museum and interactive escape games. His freelance work has flourished post-2019, leading him to create innovative experiences like the outdoor game Industrial Trail and stage designs for cultural events. Recently, he has become captivated by light and projection, working on significant installations such as the site-specific piece Cerebri Tree for the BLIK BLIK light festival in 2023. With a rich portfolio that reflects his unique perspective as both a lone wolf and a collaborative team player, Pavel continues to engage in creative endeavors that push the boundaries of art and design.
